How RHINO Created a Standout Shell Scheme Display at the London Stationery Show

For RHINO Stationery, the London Stationery Show was an opportunity to bring its colourful range of notebooks, pads and stationery to life in a memorable exhibition space.

Working with Victor Stationery, we created a 3.5 metre ShowSuit® seamless fabric backdrop that transformed a standard shell scheme into a distinctive, customer-focused display.

The brief: create atmosphere without overwhelming the products

The stand needed a strong visual identity, but the stationery still had to remain the star. The brief combined a large scenic backdrop, clear RHINO branding and product shelving positioned directly in front of the graphic.

Rather than filling the wall with sales messages, the artwork used an African landscape to create depth and atmosphere. It gave the stand a recognisable setting while allowing RHINO’s colourful products and timber shelving to take centre stage.

The initial visual showed how the uninterrupted African landscape would work across the back wall.

Visualising the complete exhibition stand

Before production, a second mock-up brought the whole stand together. It showed the scenic graphic in place behind the shelving, helping the customer see how the backdrop would frame the products rather than compete with them.

This stage is especially useful for shell scheme projects because it gives everyone a clear view of the finished composition before artwork goes to print. In this case, the visualisation proved remarkably close to the real stand.

Why ShowSuit® worked for the shell scheme

Traditional shell scheme graphics are often produced as separate panels, which can leave visible joins between each section. For RHINO, ShowSuit® created one continuous fabric image across the 3.5 metre wall, giving the display a much cleaner finish.

The lightweight graphic is straightforward to install, folds down for transport and can be reused at future events. That makes it a practical option for exhibitors who want the impact of a large-format backdrop without transporting rigid panels.

The finished stand at the London Stationery Show

At the show, the backdrop provided a calm, scenic foundation for the much busier product display. The timber shelving sat naturally in front of the landscape, while the stationery added colour and detail across the full width of the stand.

The end-of-aisle position allowed the display to be seen from several directions. One feature visitors certainly could not miss was RHINO’s life-sized rhinoceros mascot. Positioned in front of the African landscape, it reinforced the brand and created a natural talking point for people approaching the stand.

From visualisation to reality

The finished exhibition photographs show how closely the completed stand followed the original concept. The scenic backdrop, shelving and product displays work together as one environment, while each element still has room to breathe.

Customer feedback

“Everyone loved the backdrop… we will definitely use you again in the future.”

That response captures exactly what a successful exhibition graphic should do: support the customer’s wider stand design, present the brand professionally and help create a space that visitors remember.
