Exhibition FAQs & Practical Display Advice
Exhibitions can feel overwhelming — tight spaces, busy aisles and very little time to make an impression.
Below are answers to some of the most common questions we’re asked by exhibitors, along with practical advice to help you choose the right display approach for your space, budget and exhibition schedule.
Which display is right for me?
There’s no single “best” display — the right choice depends on how often you exhibit, how much space you have, and how you need to transport your graphics.
As a general guide:
Banner stands
Best suited to short-term events, pop-ups or supporting graphics. Easy to transport and cost-effective, but very common — clarity of message is essential.
Fabric displays
Lightweight, seamless and easy to transport. Fabric systems work particularly well for repeat exhibitors who want a consistent, professional look without heavy hardware.
Shell scheme graphics
If you’re exhibiting in a shell scheme, using graphics that cover the supplied wall panels is often the most effective way to stand out. Clean, full-height visuals help remove distractions and create a more premium finish.
Modular backdrops
A good option when you need flexibility across different stand sizes. Modular systems can be adapted and expanded over time, while still remaining practical to transport and assemble.
How to make the most of my space?
The most effective exhibition stands are usually the simplest. Clear messaging, strong visuals and an uncluttered layout will always outperform busy or confusing displays.
Try to:
• Focus on one clear message
• Avoid unnecessary furniture or graphics
• Choose displays with a minimal floor footprint
Visitors often decide whether to stop within seconds — your stand should communicate what you do quickly and confidently.

How do I engage visitors and stay memorable?
Engagement starts with conversation. Your display should support that, not compete with it.
Simple takeaways can help — whether that’s useful printed information, branded items or digital follow-up — but the most important thing is having clear talking points and an easy way to capture contact details.
A well-designed stand gives you confidence and makes those conversations easier to start.
How far in advance should I plan my exhibition graphics?
It’s always worth starting earlier than you think. As a general guide, allowing at least one week for artwork preparationand a further week for production helps avoid rushed decisions and last-minute compromises.
More complex displays, multiple panels or tighter exhibition deadlines may require additional time, so early planning is always beneficial.
If you’re exhibiting regularly, reusable display systems can also reduce lead times for future events — with graphics updated as needed rather than starting from scratch each time.
