The Night Market at the Piece Hall

Animated installation at Halifax Piece Hall

Halifax’s historic Piece Hall was recently host to a bespoke installation, launched as part of the Spirit of Halifax, art was brought to life through animated illustrations that lit up the The Piece Hall’s north wall.

Created by acclaimed locally based artists, Illustrator Chris Mould from Bradford and Matt Howarth, Animator & Artist in Residence at Dean Clough Galleries. The Night Market was the culmination of a project developed between the artists and The Piece Hall Trust, inspired by the fascinating 237 year history of the Grade I listed building.

Fresco was asked to supply a set of tough outdoor eyeleted banners, each 3m square banner was printed featuring Illustrations by Chris Mould to complement Matt Howarth’s animations.

All of our reinforced banners are supplied with cable wraps or bungee fasteners to cope with wind, attaching to strong reinforced brass eyelets. Heavy-duty inks keep the vibrant images and colours keyed onto the media. We look forward to working on similar projects in the future.
